Councilwoman McClellan is the elected District 3 Secretary for the Colorado Municipal League for 2007-2008 and was recently appointed as the Centennial Representative for the Colorado Muncipal League's Policy Committee. A member of Women in Municipal Government, Councilwoman McClellan has lobbied Colorado's Congressional delegation for Centennial interests on Capitol Hill, and has represented Centennial at the National League of Cities in Washington, DC. She has served as a member of the steering committee of the Cherry Creek Community Legislative Network, where she advocated for public education. She has served as an election judge, Parent Teacher Organization volunteer, and Destination Imagination Coach. A genealogist with colonial roots, she is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She has served as a Key Volunteer for the US Marine Corps during her husband's squadron deployments. Councilwoman McClellan works with the Centennial Citizens' Environmental Sustainability Committee to bring green options before council, and has served on the council's internal parks and open space committee. Councilwoman McClellan is a frequent guest panelist for The White House Project, a non partisan organization dedicated to preparing women to hold public office.
